Choir marking 10th anniversary

PHOENIX Choir will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, September 12.

The choir, which started its autumn rehearsals on Wednesday, is celebrating with a birthday cake.

All past members are invited to join in with the event, which takes place at All Saints Church Hall at 7.30pm.

Phoenix Choir started from two choirs, Cantamus and The Heritage in September 2002.

It is now flourishing under new musical director Michael Fields, who joined the choir last September.

Phoenix Choir’s winter concert of Durufle’s Requiem and Poulenc’s Gloria will take place on February 1 at 7.30pm.

Concerts are held at All Saints Church, Grange Road and choir rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm in the church hall.

New members of all voices are welcome, come along on September 5 or contact Jenny on 639116.
