Long regarded as one of British folk’s finest singer-songwriters, Steve Ashley returns to The Lamb Folk Club on Wednesday, June 1.

Steve burst on to the music scene in 1974 with award-winning debut album, Stroll On, which holds a permanent place among the great folk-rock records. Since then Steve has consistently melded tradition with innovation and delivered intelligent and inspired English poetry amid beautifully distinctive and original melodies.

August 2014 saw the publication of Dave Thompson’s acclaimed biography, Fire and Wine - An armchair guide to Steve Ashley, which traces his extraordinary 50 year career in music. His new album, This Little Game, features songs that celebrate the power of love in the face of militarism, injustice, loss and fading doctrines and it was listed in The Telegraph’s best folk albums of 2015.

Doors open at 7.30pm. The number for enquiries is 01323 728268 and admission is £7 on the door.
