Ticket are now on sale for Seaford Little Theatre’s autumn production of Funny Money, a comedy hit of the 1990s by Ray Cooney.

This show is classic farce in the tradition of other Ray Cooney treats such as Move Over Mrs Markham and There Goes the Bride which have played to packed houses in Seaford in past seasons.

Press officer Patricia Pape commented: “At Seaford Little Theatre we like to present a range of genres, but farce is a difficult one requiring precise timing and strong teamwork from the cast.

“This show was chosen by some of the members of the cast who enjoyed it so much at one of our monthly play readings last year, that they suggested we stage it. The characters are truthful and recognisable, but the situation that develops is out of the ordinary leading to a predicament beyond their control. The resulting chaos should prove hilarious for the audience!

The strong cast is lead by Jon Terry as the hapless Henry who picks up the wrong briefcase on the train home one evening.

Jenny Humphries plays Jean, his wife who struggles to cope with things by turning to drink! Sharon Besant and Lee Powney are the friends who become dragged into the rapidly deteriorating situation. Stephen Cowles and Stephen Wetherilt represent the law, with Dennis Picott and Alan Clifford completing the cast. We have a great backstage team to support the production.”

Funny Money, directed by Mary Young opens on Friday November 4 at and runs for eight performances. The matinee is at on Saturday the 5th, with evening performances from the 7th to the 12th.

Tickets will be on sale at £8 (£7 matinee) from Redgold Opticians in Broad Street, Seaford. Booking early is recommended.
