Celebrating 70 years of theatre

Seaford Little Theatre is throwing open its doors to celebrate its 70th anniversary.

There will be a host of activities for all the family to enjoy and a special guest appearance from actor and author Ray Brooks.

Seaford Little Theatre is inviting in the public for two days of fun packed celebrations. There will be information and exhibitions that will reveal how the magic of theatre has come to life for seven decades at Seaford Little Theatre.

There will additionally be performances of some extracts of well-known plays, like the balcony scene from Private Lives. Acting members will be delivering monologues and running play readings so visitors can join in and have a go at ‘treading the boards’.

Behind the scenes guided tours will give visitors access to areas the public don’t normally get to see. Visitors can find out about stage management, lighting and sound production, play with some props, rummage through costumes, look into the dressing rooms and sit in the Green Room.

In the auditorium there will be an exhibition of photographs and memorabilia from past performances with members on hand to share their stories of the history of productions through the ages. Visitors can meet actors, backstage staff and the creative team and enjoy delicious cream teas in the coffee lounge.

Seaford Little Theatre volunteers have been proud to entertain the local community for seven decades and their 70th anniversary Open House event will be an occasion for all the family to enjoy.

Join the Celebration at: Seaford Little Theatre, 4 Steyne Road, Seaford, on Saturday 4/5 from 11-6pm, entry free.
