Eastbourne festival embraces the ale and the arts

THE EASTBOURNE Real Ale and Arts Festival takes place in the town this weekend at the Crown and Anchor public house on the seafront.

From today (Friday December 2), there will be three days of arts and crafts, photography, poetry, live music, free wine tasting sessions, carol singing and at the pub.

Today’s highlights include free wine tasting sessions with Manor Drinks and live music tonight with Eastbourne band The Betties.

Tomorrow (Saturday December 3), Father Christmas will be giving out gifts to children from 10am-noon, there will be carol singing around the Christmas Tree with Natalie Roberts’ School of Performing Arts from 11am, story telling, a charity artwork draw with all proceeds going to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, cocktail mixing and the Oompa Band.

On Sunday from 11.30am-1.30pm there will be a Children’s Christmas card workshop with the open house artists, a charity Tug of War between Brighton Uni Rugby Team and the Boxing Team at 2.30pm with all proceeds going to the RNLI, a Salsa display and workshop with Dance Avenue, and a charity painting and photography draw for the RNLI and Oasis.

There will also be a chance to sample a wide variety of Real Ales.
