Chance to volunteer at theatre

DO YOU fancy getting involved at a local theatre? Not on the stage – but in some of the many essential roles behind-the-scenes, from selling tickets to staffing the bar, from acting as front-of-house to helping bake the cakes for the weekly coffee mornings?

If so, the Eastbourne Under Ground Theatre would like to invite you along to the theatre for a Volunteers’ Evening on April 16, at 7.30pm.

Go to the foyer of the main library, at the corner of Grove Road, and go down the stairs on your right.

The UGT is staffed exclusively by unpaid volunteers – yet manages to stage a remarkably wide range of professional shows every year, including drama, jazz and chamber–music, as well as the coffee mornings that almost always come with either live music or an art exhibition.

The programme continues to expand from year to year – so more volunteers are required.

If you would like to become involved at the UGT, but can’t make it on April 26, then do ring the volunteer co-ordinator, Julia Marshall, on 738320, or the chairman of the theatre’s committee, Pam Keen, on 732778.
