Speaking up for Sing Street

Sing Street

Eastbourne Film Society is supporting new movie Sing Street which is an entertaining film but “seems to have been overlooked by many cinemas.”

Sing Street will be shown at Eastbourne Curzon from June 17-21 and is “perfect summer entertainment” directed by irish filmaker John Carney.

It tells the story of a 15-year-old boy who, to impress an older girl, claims to have a band and then has to build one up. This is a feel-good film that celebrates love while recognising the sadness that it can bring, and should appeal to the young as well as older audiences.
