Written by award-winning Caribbean-British poet Grace Nichols, Dora vs Picasso is a new multimedia production about photographer Dora Maar and her tempestuous relationship during the 1930s with Pablo Picasso. Set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War the production features live flamenco music and dance alongside powerful acting and projected images.
The Flamenco element is provided by Amor Flamenco, featuring guitarist José León, dancer Ana Dueñas León and singer Julio Lopez Fuentes, with Sibylle Bernardin as Dora and Michael D’Cruze as Picasso. Directed by Mark C Hewitt for Crosspath Theatre.
