Mike Tann is a self-taught artist whose work creates intrigue, humour, and a sense of the macabre and he will be exhibiting at the Under Ground next month. From October 2-31 you will be able to see how Mike employs a variety of media within his practice.
He uses up cycled materials to create curious objet d’art figures engaged in peculiar activities encased within vitrines, paint and canvas depict figurative images of Pop-Surrealism and dream-like fantasy. He also uses collage and assemblage of mixed media to juxtapose seemingly unrelated objects and subjects into bizarre, but sometimes comic effect.
Mike’s art work will be on show and on sale every Friday and Saturday between 10am and 4pm. Patrons at any Under Ground Theatre event may also view the paintings. Free entry.
