Brighton-based director Phil Grabsky will be introducing his film In Search of Beethoven to launch the new season at Seaford Community Cinema on Friday April 8.
Phil is an award-winning documentary film-maker with a film career spanning 25 years.
This highly successful film brings together the world’s leading performers and experts on Beethoven to reveal new insights into the celebrated composer. After the screening Phil will take part in a Q+A when audience members have the chance to talk to him.
Phil said: “I’m a huge believer in community cinema – it’s partly why I make cinema films rather than TV documentaries. It will be a treat to chat to folk in Seaford.”
The rest of the season is a diverse mix of films including award nominees and winners: Carol, starring Cate Blanchett, about the unexpected love affair between two women, Alan Bennett’s hilarious Lady in the Van with Maggie Smith, politically charged Selma following Martin Luther King, Jr on his campaign for equal voting rights, and the touching historical drama about Irish immigrants in Brooklyn.
