Acclaimed drama at Curzon

For some years the Curzon cinema has tried to supplement some of the more popular attractions with one week programmes of more serious fare from the Art House circuit in addition to the one-day Film Society screenings.

In recent years this has included Hidden, Amour and Blue is the Warmest Colour.

Now comes the acclaimed British drama 45 Years with Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay, a couple preparing to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. Geoff is unsettled to learn that the body of Katya, a long-lost sweetheart, has been found frozen in a Swiss glacier. Initially sympathetic, Kate is angered to discover that Geoff is Katya’s next of kin, leaving her with unfamiliar feelings of misgiving. The film opens on September 25.
