The Crucible, based upon the chilling Salem witch trials of 1692 and also inspired by the McCarthy hearings of the 1950s, was directed by Bruce Sibley and performed by pupils. The play was a great success and provided an evening of thrilling entertainment of tense and dark drama exploring the further recesses of human psyche and behaviour.
