Shane Filan and Right Here tour

Irish popstar Shane Filan comes to Eastbourne for the first time when he brings new tour Right Here to the Congress Theatre on Saturday March 12. Shane achieved world-wide fame with endlessly popular boyband Westlife but went solo after they decided to split in 2011.

His show as a solo performer will feature songs from his recently released album and he is relishing the prospect of playing around the country.

Shane said: “I am thrilled to be getting out on the road in March 2016. This is going to be quite a tour. I am really proud of Right Here and now I can’t wait to perform the new songs live, alongside some old favourites. I am very much looking forward to coming to Eastbourne.”

Right Here was mainly recorded in London and Denmark, with Shane working on the music with Cutfather (The Saturdays, JLS), Jez Ashurst (Will Young, Gabrielle Aplin), Jon Maquire (Union J) and Tre Jean-Marie (MNEK, Jason Derulo).

Westlife had fourteen chart toppings singles and fourty-four million sales. Their career, Shane says “fulfilled all of our dreams 100 times over,” and it’s been a remarkable journey for a singer songwriter who grew up in Sligo inspired by an admiration of Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson.

Shane told the Herald: “I always look forward to touring the most out of everything I do. You announce the dates, tickets go on sale, you hope everyone will come and see you. This time I am really excited about coming for the first time to places like Eastbourne, to see new sights and go to different parts of the UK. You meet new people and you see new things. And in this type of venue I’m right there with the audience - such a different experience to an arena. There is so much more enjoyment playing these shows than big stadiums. I have more fun with the crowd and I can really feel what they are thinking, you can hear someone cough or if they laugh, and I will stop the show and ask what they are laughing about, and have some fun with them. It is so different, and I am really looking forward to getting back out again.”
