Ronn Lucas with help from friends

There are some of us who thought entertainer Steve Hewlett's puppet of Simon Cowell was more appealing than the real thing...the ventriloquist's audition on Britain's Got Talent was certainly memorable, and as a finalist he shot to fame and has even led a team on Eggheads.

They have yet to invent a machine or device that can measure my joy, pleasure, happiness, and downright delight, at my being able to once again perform ventriloquism in the UK. “I have my producer, and fellow ventriloquist, Steve Hewlett to thank for this. This is his brainchild. Steven was just a lad when I hosted a hit variety show back in the early 90’s. Poor kid, it’s because of my TV series that the voice-throwing bug bit him, and bit him hard. Now he’s a full grown Vent. Performer and a National Award winner in his own right.

I’m thrilled that Mr Hewlett has not only agreed to produce the show, but he’s also agreed to share the stage with me. Sure, I have some guilt for warping Mr Hewlett at such a young age. But does that matter? These shows are going to be soooo much fun! “

He will be back with Scorch The Dragon, Buffalo Billy and many more new friends in this family show produced and directed by and also starring Steve on March 23 at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £19.50 plus concessions, from 01323 412000 and www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk
