Return visit for jazz maestro
Talented pianist and composer Mark Edwards and his band return to the Under Ground Theatre on Friday February 26 at 8pm.
He will play music from the great American songbook both past and present. From show tune standards from the 40s and 50s through to more modern songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits. There will also be some numbers from his latest solo album ‘In Deep’ which was Jamie Cullum’s pick of month on BBC Radio’s ‘Jazz House.’
For this performance he has his trio award winner for ‘Best Modern Jazz Player:’ Paul Booth on saxophone, the stellar rhythm section Andrew Clyndert on Bass, and Spike Wells on Drums. Doors and coffee-bar and bar open at 7.30pm. Tickets: £13 (UGT members/students £12 ).
