Powerful emotion at St Mary The Virgin
On Monday March 14 at 7.30pm Willingdon Parish Church, St Mary the Virgin, is presenting Stainer's Crucifixion, which is a deeply expressed setting of the final period of Christ's life.
This event will feature an augmented choir, featuring tenor soloist Andrew Wicks, baritone soloist Mike Barber and congregational hymns which will be directed by Michael Stumbles.
The following Sunday, March 20, at 6.30pm there will be a special devotional service - The Cross Of Christ - including readings, prayers, choir items and hymns.
There will be no admission charges but a retiring collection supporting the charity Children With Cancer.
