Reeves and Mortimer are coming on January 29 - and you can see them first, ahead of their national tour which includes arenas, giving fans a chance at an intimate gig in the Congress Theatre.

Reeves and Mortimer burst onto the comedy scene 25 years ago; with an anarchic brand of incomparable humour - they brought surreal comedy back to the mainstream in the biggest way since Spike Milligan. From TV series’ to live tours and even a number one chart entry with Dizzy, Vic and Bob undoubtedly defined an era of brilliantly British comedy – and they continue to do so.

Their television appearances began on a late night Channel 4 show with the absurdly ludicrous Vic Reeves Big Night Out, which can only be described as a bizarre, childish and very funny variety show. The chemistry between Vic and Bob was obvious and led onto a cornucopia of TV comedy including Shooting Stars which ran for 12 years.

Although the pair have toured nationally before, this is the first time they will be seen live since 1995. The show will be hotly anticipated by fans hoping to catch a glimpse of popular characters such as Man with the Stick, The Stotts, Mulligan and O’Hare.

As always there will be some up-lifting moments, musical moments, maybe magic, dance, some show of physical strength and apparently some poignant touches.

Vic Reeves said: “Destiny has led us to this point in time. Now, finally the diversion of Reeves & Mortimer can be revealed in full extent through a cornucopia of preposterous doggerel etc.”

Bob Mortimer added: “I will ensure that Vic arrives at all dates smartly dressed and unarmed. I promise not to mention football, JLS or apricots during the performances. Should you choose to attend, be warned, I will be not be wearing a toupé.”
