Boco Arts LLP is a new female-led events company created by two Sussex-based musicians, Camilla Carden and Julia Palmer. Together they want to bring new energy to the classical music industry through innovative and diverse programming, combining high-quality musical performances within modern settings to create opportunities for artists to perform, network and grow.

Camilla said: “The festival will be bringing together local and international talent for the first live music event in months not viewed through a screen!

“Set in the Cuckmere Valley, Boco Arts’ Cuckmere Festival is a one-day event featuring classical chamber music groups playing a range of repertoire including works by composers of colour and female composers. Local businesses will have food and drink stalls serving refreshments from the opening at 1.30pm to close at 7.30pm. All profits raised will be split between the organisers, performers and local charity The Pebble Trust.

Performers will include the award-winning Brompton Quartet, Sussex-based soprano Helen Lacey, Coro Nuovo Young Musician of the year Hannah Corcoran and more.”

Camilla explained: “Boco Arts was founded in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis as a direct response to the devastating impact of the pandemic on the art industries. With many professionals out of work and traditional live performances on hold, Boco Arts wanted to bring some new energy and ideas to creatively get art and live music back into people’ s lives.”

Ashley Beauchamp, one of the performers billed for the festival, said: “After relentless cancellations and bad news for months, Julia Palmer and Millie Carden have created this gorgeous festival and it’s going to be just wonderful.I can’t wait to be performing with the incredible Hannah Corcoran and Helen Lacey.”
