Plans submitted to Eastbourne Borough Council say the 35-metre high big wheel and four bungee trampolines will be set up on King Edwards Parade this month.

De Koning Leisure Group, which has 20 years of experience operating ferris wheels, is the business that has applied for the plans to be passed.

The attractions would be placed on the lawn area between King Edwards Parade and Western Parade, the plans say. According to the plans there would also be a ticket booth, photo booth and staff facilities.

If approved, the assembly would start on Sunday (March 14) and the site would operate from April 1 until October 31 with the process of dismantling completed by the end of November, plans say.

Last year the wheel was very popular and because of this it stayed longer than expected – more than 25,000 people went on it.

Head of tourism and enterprise for Eastbourne Annie Wills said, “Tourism and enterprise are very supportive of this application.

“This is a fabulous attraction on Eastbourne seafront and will generate an income for both the council and the wider community.”
