60's culture in the focus of Blow Up

One of the seminal films of the 1960s, Blow Up, is next to be shown in the Through The Decades series at the Under Ground Theatre on Sunday March 6 at 2.30pm.

The 1966 film stars David Hemmings as a fashion photographer whose character was loosely based on David Bailey. The film combines a murder mystery with the fashion world and soundtrack of the era. It was a milestone in liberalized attitude toward film nudity and sexual expression. Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, it co-stars Vanessa Redgrave and Sarah Miles and won the Palm D’Or at Cannes.

Doors open at 2pm.
