Round 13 of the National Hot Rod Championship saw Kym Weaver bounce back at the Aldershot raceway on Sunday, finishing seventh to gain qualification for the World Finals.
During round 12 at Northampton, Weaver only received 18 points due to two non-finishes and an 8th place.
However, on the tight oval at Aldershot where overtaking can be difficult, he drove his Vauxhall Tigra for the first time in heat one and successfully finished in fifth place.
The rain came down heavily during heat two just to make life a little harder but again Weaver produced another fine drive from almost being last to then coming through to a credible 7th place.
For the 35 lap final, Weaver showed how well the “green machine” was handling in the wet conditions and settled for a 7th place finish and 40 Championship points were gained.
This will put Kym eighth in the points chart where the top twenty qualify for the World Final.
