AN ACTION-PACKED evening of National Hot Rod Racing in round 10 of The World Series at Birmingham raceway saw Hailsham’s Kym Weaver move up to sixth in the points chart.
With the rain pouring down before the race, it was always going to be a difficult evening for all the drivers involved.
Weaver started well in the opening heat but after losing his way on the outside lane, in which he collided with a fellow competitor, had to settle for a 15th placed finish and a solitary point.
Heat Three was an important one for Weaver and he didn’t disappoint; ensuring his place in the 26 car final with an impressive seventh place finish.
As track conditions worsened, the competitors found themselves battling even harder for those invaluable points. Weaver finished the final in 11th, enough for him to overtake some of his nearest rivals and move up to sixth place in The World Series.
