TOP soap star Danny Miller (left) will lead out a celebrity XI to face the Eastbourne United Veterans at the Oval on Sunday.
Miller, recently voted UK’s best soap actor, will captain stars of the stage and screen in the latest celebrity charity football at the Oval.
Also taking to the field will be Matt Lapinskas and Tony Discipline better known as the Moon brothers in Eastenders, Will Rush and Lucien Laviscount (Waterloo Road), Jay Khan and Anthony Quinlan (Holyoaks) and Elliott Tittensor (Shameless) will be among the stars showing their skills and raising money for the Tuesday O’Hara Fund.
The charity helps young adults with cancer and leukaemia. There will also be a bar, tombola, a BBQ and a funfair.
Event organiser Richard Davis said, “The line-ups get better and better each year. The stars love coming to Eastbourne and enjoy the football and meeting the fans. It’s a great day out for the fans and a chance to meet the characters they see on TV. More importantly it’s about raising money for the charity. We are hoping for a good turn-out in order to raise as much as possible.”
The Veterans line-up will include Robbie Baker, Terry Grant, Brian Cordingly and Brendan Mewitt.
Vets boss Marcus Bridger said, “We are all looking forward to the day. It will be a great occasion for us.
“But we will be taking the game seriously and we don’t want to come second again this year.”
