Intense rivalry will no doubt be rekindled this week as Eastbourne Eagles face a double meeting under the floodlights with King’s Lynn Stars.

Points and bragging rights are at stake as the two sides meet at Saddlebow Road this evening (Wednesday) and again at the Arlington Arena on Monday.

Tonight’s meeting will be King’s Lynn’s first of the campaign, while Eastbourne will be hoping to build on their impressive 55-40 opening victory over Belle Vue last Saturday.

The Stars and the Eagles enjoyed many close contests last season, with King’s Lynn being the only side to beat Eastbourne on both visits to Arlington in 2011.

The Norfolk side, who only returned to the top tier of speedway last season, were just pipped to the runner-up spot by Eastbourne Eagles in last year’s Elite League campaign.

Races get under way at 7:30pm at Saddlebow Road tonight, while the SKY Sports team will be on hand to capture all the action of Monday’s meet, which also starts at 7:30pm.
