HEATHER Olver is determined to break her duck at the English National Badminton Championships next month.
England’s Eastbourne star has two chances for glory in Manchester, as she plays in the mixed doubles with Chris Langridge and the women’s doubles with new partner Kate Robertshaw.
Despite having only been put together with former singles player Robertshaw last September, the pair have been named as top seeds for the tournament, which takes place at the National Cycling Centre from February 1. Olver and Langridge are also top seeds in the mixed doubles.
“I have never won a Nationals title so it would be quite good to go for a title there,” said 26-year-old Olver, who insists she doesn’t feel the pressure of being named as favourites.
“With Kate it is going really well. It was tough for her going straight from singles into doubles and she has improved so quickly.
“We have already won a couple of tournaments which is a fantastic start within three months, so I am hoping we can take that level and build on it and see what else we can do.”
