Eastbourne Rovers youth star Ollie Priddle is celebrating a top placing on Saturday at Bedgebury Forest, Kent in his first short course MTB cross country race of the season.
Ollie finished second in the tough 40 minute off road event. He was also recently awarded second youth overall in the Sussex Cyclocross League after some superb racing over the winter months.
Meanwhile, the Eastbourne Rovers time trial specialists competed in the East Sussex Cycling Association’s
race weekend. Saturday’s event was a 10-mile time trial from East Hoathly. The Eastbourne team of Iain Brogden, Matt Woods, Marc Townsend, John Cordner, Dan Henchy, John-Paul Brophy, Michael Davey, Geoff Smith, Emma Richards and Kevin Burton all put in strong rides but were unable to match the performance of Lewes athlete Nick Dwyer who won the event with a time of 21:05. Eastbourne’s Brogden took 4th place with 21:48 and team mate Woods was first veteran 40-44 with 22:09.
