No problems for Hantuchova against British number one Keothavong

British number one Anne Keothavong went out of the AEGON International on centre court today after losing to Daniela Hantuchova.

Hantuchova took the first set 6-2 with ease and claimed the second 6-3 to race through to the second round.

The eighth seed Slovakian was too strong for wildcard Keothavong, leaving her only to bid for the women’s doubles trophy with partner Elena Baltacha later in the week.

Baltacha, who lives in Ipswich, was forced to withdraw from the singles tournament due to a neck injury but is confident she can accompany the right-handed Keothavong from London.
