HOTROD Racer Kym Weaver finished his first full season in style with a third place finish at the National Championship final
On a wet track at Hednesford Raceway, Weaver started 31st of 32 racers but soon powered his way through the field during the 70-lap final.
Weaver lapped most the competitors on his way to a podium finish.
The third place was one place higher than the fourth he achieved in the World Finals earlier this season
Round one and two of the new campaign have already been completed. Weaver had a poor night at Northampton where he picked up just 19 points but hit back in Hednesford with a fourth place in heat one, a win in heat two and a seventh in the final. Tomorrow (Saturday, September 8) Weaver will compete in round three at Ipswich.
