Eastbourne Ladies were once again on top form as they brushed aside the challenge of league rivals Crawley at the Saffrons last Saturday.
The victory sees Eastbourne top the table on 34 points after 13 matches played.
Their closest rivals, East Grinstead are on 32 points from 13 matches with the two teams meeting for a crunch game against each other in East Grinstead on Saturday.
The defeat sends Crawley to the bottom of the table with five points from 13 matches played.
The ladies opened the scoring from a short corner. Claire Noble slipped the ball left for Katie Love.
Her shot cannoned off the post where Jules Gilbert-King was on hand to slot the ball home. Jen Atkins added a second before Katie Love scored a third from another short-corner routine. The fourth came from some beautiful silky skills by Nat Boyd before she slotted the ball beyond the goalkeeper.
Atkins swept home a fifth before halftime and two further goals were added after the break.It was Petch who hit the sixth before player of the match Nat Boyd completed the scoring.
After victory Eastbourne attacker Katie Love said, “Crawley didn’t seem to have much fight.
“It was a bit like 11 Chickens in 11 Lady Gaga meat costumes going out at night wearing a sign saying ‘Eat Me’ in Fox country.”
