Hailsham remain top of the pile

Hailsham Memorial Institute D Team, the leaders in division three of the Eastbourne Snooker League, consolidated their position at the head of the table with a 4-1 home victory over Fishermens Club F.

Matt Dawber, Simon Watts, Scott Fever, and Mark Galt recorded the winning frames.

Steve Heather prevented the whitewash with a 60-9 win against Scott Vidler in the fifth frame.

Eastbourne Con Club, vying for automatic promotion into division two, fell to a 4-1 home loss by the Royal Naval Club A team.

Mario Vella, Charlie Anastasi, Vic Harding and Colin Napier had the Navy wins and Ron Dixon stopped Ivor Morton in the opening frame with a black ball 49-39 win and prevented the clean sweep.

Glastonbury D entertained Dolphin F and the home team won the match 4-1 with wins from Chris Healey, Jon Bligh, Trevor Brown and Mike Dee.

Stuart Alexander, the Dolphin F captain, stopped the rot with a black ball 41-32 win against Stuart Yunnie.

Seaford Legion kept in touch with the league leaders with a 3-2 away win at Glastonbury E.

Hailsham Club C travelled to Eastbourne to play the Fire Brigade at the Naval Club. Their journey was rewarded with a 3-2 team victory, Aled Evans, Tony Askham and Brian Sparks recorded the wining frames. John Olive and the Brigade skipper Roger Easy secured the home victories.

XREA Railway enjoyed a 4-1 home win over one of the bottom teams in division three Fishermens Club A.

Colin Fry, Steve Glenn, Martin Fry and the XREA skipper Liam Brooks had the winning frames.

Tony Deragon outpointed Phil Fry in the first frame 69-21 to record the solitary Fish A frame win.

Hailsham MI F travelled to the Eastbourne Angling Club and were rewarded with a 3-2 win.

Dave Clark, Andrew Mozley and Scott McLean recorded the HMI F winning frames while Norman Lippett along with Graham Elphick replied for the Angling Club B.
