Hailsham B Club eye promotion after derby joy

Hailsham MI D, the leaders in division three of the Eastbourne Snooker League, came up against near neighbours Hailsham Club B.

The HMI B outfit kept up their challenge for automatic promotion with a 4-1 away victory.

Seaford Legion, lying in second place, faced third placed XREA Railway. The Legion won the match 3-2 with frame wins via the cues of Martin Coombs, Brian McCullen and Andy Wells. Martin Fry and Liam Brooks recorded the wins for XREA.

HMI F entertained Eastbourne Con Club who are in fourth place, the Con Club took the match 3-2. Phil Carter won the vital last frame 59-29 against Julian Hoskins.

Royal Naval Club A had an emphatic 4-1 win over the Fire Brigade. Mario Vella, Vick Harding, Roger Hobbs and John Keller posted the Navy wins.

Pete Marsden outpointed Colin Napier 67-32 on the final frame to secure the solitary Fire Brigade point.

Fishermens F fell to a 3-2 home defeat by Glastonbury E.

Colin Hadland took the match with a walkover point in the final frame for the Glastonbury E team.

Hailsham MI B took over the top spot in division two following their 4-1 home win in the derby match against the HMI E Team.

Dean Goodall, Clive Kidman, Barry Kent and Hugh Galt secured the winning frames

and Darren Jeffery lost out 53-12 against the HMI E captain John Lamb.

Railway Club A Team, last week’s joint leaders in division two, managed a 3-2 home win over mid table Transport.

Paul Goacher the Railway captain won the important last frame 55-32 against Dave Taylor to record the team victory.
