Gildredge bowls star Andrew is champion

Gildredge Park Bowls Club are celebrating the success of their youngest member as 24-year-old Andrew Albon became the Sussex Champion.

Andrew triumphed in the Sussex Mens County Singles Championship when he won the Final 21 - 12 against Alec Martin of the White Rock BC, Hastings, at Popes Mead, Crawley.

Andrew and his fellow finalist will now represent Sussex in the National Singles Tournament in Leamington at the end of August.

Other winners at the Championship included Martin Pelosi from Popes Mead in the 2 Wood Singles, Arundel’s Anthony Batchelor in the Champions of Champions, Andy Bannister from Ringmer in the Unbadged Singles Championship, and Martin Heitzman from White Rock in the Under 25’s Singles Championship.
