During the interval of Australia v England U23’s at Arlington Stadium last Saturday Brandon Freemantle, signed a contract on the centre-green to become an Eastbourne asset.
This year the talented 16-year-old has ridden for Hackney Hawks in the National League.
In the meet Cameron Woodward and Tyson Nelson scored a 5-1 in the opening race and the Aussies were never headed from that point.
Key to their success was that they only ran one last place all night when Travis McGowan finished at the back in heat 13.
Top rider of the night was Eagles’ Lewis Bridger but his hopes of a full house were shattered when his engine seized as heat 15 got under way.
Oliver Allen, late replacement for Tai Woffinden, top scored for Team GB with 15 points, including a six point haul from a tactical ride in heat 10.
This was the final match of the season at Eastbourne. The club has announced that the 2012 campaign will begin at Arlington on the weekend of March 17.
