Eastbourne Ladies suffered their first home defeat of the season last Saturday, after Wimbledon Ladies 1A trounced them 6-1.
The ladies side dropped to fourth place in South Club’s Division 3B after defeat, with Wimbledon two points behind them in fourth place.
Wimbledon have not lost in their last four league matches and showed why they are a team to watch this season, after scoring six past a defence that had only conceded nine goals in seven matches leading up to the game.
Eastbourne now make the 20 mile trip up to Southampton, where they will be looking to get back to winning ways. Saturdays opponents lie eighth in the table, 10 points behind Eastbourne.
Eastbourne Mens Firsts suffered a similar fate after they were comprehensively beaten 8-2 away to Banbury Firsts.
Eastbourne have only won two of their last seven league matches in the South Premier Division Two, leaving them in ninth place.
The mens team will welcome eighth place Marlow Firsts on Saturday, who are on equal points with Eastbourne but have a better goal difference.
