Eastbourne Eagles team have announced the return of Lukas Dryml and Denis Gizatullin for the 2013 season.
They both rode for the Sussex team last year and join Cameron Woodward, Adam Shields and Bjarne Pedersen, whose signings were announced before Christmas.
Team manager and co-promoter Trevor Geer said Gizatullin was already asking about when he could come to England and start riding at Arlington in preparation for the new season.
“He learned a lot last year and we should see the benefit once the league season starts,” Geer commented. “He is ultra-keen to make his mark in England.”
Geer said Dryml loved riding for Eastbourne, loved the fans and was delighted to be back with the Eagles.
“Lukas Dryml on his day can beat anyone around Arlington and one thing is for sure, he will be riding his socks off to get out of a reserve berth as soon as possible. That just has to be great news for the team,” Geer said.
He said it was likely both Dryml and Gizatullin would start in the reserve berths meaning the Eagles were likely to have one of the strongest reserve pairings in the Elite League.
First date for fans will be the official practice day on March 16 from 12.45pm. Supporters are invited to attend and see their favourites complete preparations for the season.
Eastbourne Speedway is supporting the Shaw Harley-Davidson’s January party at the resort’s Winter Garden theatre on Sunday, January 13 (10am-5pm).
On show will be a 2013-spec speedway bike plus one of multi-world champion Ivan Mauger’s 1972 machines. It was in 1972 that Mauger won both the speedway and long track world titles.
Club representatives will be at the stand to answer questions and give out leaflets advertising the club’s Practice Day.
This year is the tenth anniversary of Shaw Harley-Davidson, which has prominent premises on the A22 at Holmes Hill, just north of the Arlington Stadium. The Winter Garden event will display the latest Harley-Davidson motor-cycles, plus parts and clothes.
