Eastbourne Eagles boss Trevor Geer was in optimistic mood as his team fine tune their preparations for the 2013 Elite League season.
The Eagles begin their new campaign next Saturday night at Arlington Stadium against Belle Vue.
Geer has made a few minor adjustments to the septet that narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last season.
The experienced and reliable Bjarne Pedersen has been drafted in as the new number-one rider while Adam Shields put retirement plans on hold for another crack at the title with the Eagles.
Fans’ favourite Lewis Bridger has departed but Geer feels the emerging talent of Timo Lahti and Pedersen’s ability to score heavily at away venues will more than compensate for the loss.
Geer said, “We can’t wait for the season to start. We have got strong riders all the way through the order. We want to take the silverware this season and we are all confident we can do it.”
Eagles 2013: Bjarne Pedersen, Timo Lahti, Simon Gustafsson, Cameron Woodward, Adam Shields, Lukas Dryml, Denis Gizatullin.
