Eastbourne will have a new No 1 for 2013 with Joonas Kylmakorpi deciding to give Britain a miss next year.
Kylmakorpi, whose 2012 season was blighted by injury, told team manager Trevor Geer of his plans towards the end of the current campaign.
Geer, along with senior co-promoter Bob Dugard, has been working on the shape of the 2013 team but will not make any announcement until after the annual meeting of promoters in November when the team-building average will be known.
Kylmakorpi, aged 32, won the world long track championship this year for the third successive time.
“Joonas is one of the most spectacular riders in speedway and we will miss him setting Arlington alight with his distinctive style.
“We only saw glimpses of his best due to injury.”
