Eastbourne must learn to be more disciplined if they are to record their first win of the season at unbeaten Horsham on Saturday.
The Blue and Golds have played two and lost two so far in their 2011 London South East division three campaign with a points difference of -33.
Last Saturday they were soundly beaten by an Uckfied side 3-28 who top the division.
Horsham are second in table with two victories and boast a points difference of 69. On paper it looks like another tough assignment but coach Roger Stanley believes his men can cause an upset as long as they stop conceding needless penalties.
He said, “It is an area we have to improve on. It is costing us points in attack and defence and the players have to learn from their mistakes.
“We will speak about it in training and we will recreate match situations so the players can learn where they are going wrong.
“A lot of it comes down to being over-eager. It’s good to have the desire to get the ball but it has to be more controlled.”
Despite the two defeats confidence in the camp remains strong and Stanley is impressed with the attitude and workrate of his players.
It’s still early days and this is a tough league. We know Horsham will be a tough game but if we play well we are capable of getting a result,” added Stanley.
“We need it – it will give everyone at the club a huge boost.”
Brighton University prop forward Sam Johns is expected to make his debut.
Likely line-up: Baron, Imich, Johns, Chilvers, Turner, Light, Redman, Tobin, Davie, Coultard, Bettles, Ring, Cheater, Everett, Keen. Subs: Webb, Stratford, Wilmott.
The seconds also suffered defeat last week to a strong Seaford side in Sussex division one.
