Sparks will be flying in the ring tomorrow (Saturday) as Eastbourne Boxing Club host their second open show of the season at the Skateworld tomorrow (Saturday).
It has been billed as ‘Twas the fight before Christmas’ and there will be plenty of local talent on display plus the southern counties welter weight belt bout with holder Shaun Attrell of Hastings Westhill boxing against challenger Felix Kelly of Rusthall Tunbridge Wells.
Max Hinson, Mubanga Chisanga, Callum Knight and Chloe Taylor from Eastbourne Boxing Club will all be part of the show and they will be cheered on by a 500-strong crowd at the excellent Skateworld venue.
Coach Adam Haniver said, “There will be some great fights on show and it really is a friendly, family occasion. It’s not two fighters in the ring trying to batter each other, it will be more like what you see at the Olympics.
“The fighters are well trained, very skilled and the fans will get to see some very skilful and technical boxing.
“We have an excellent reputation in the south for putting on exciting and engaging shows.”
The boxers walk out to the ring to rapturous applause, booming music and a light show. Pictures of the boxers are taken and placed on a power point display as a visual head to head above the ring. Boxers from the First Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will also be competing on the night.
Haniver added, “Come and support your Eastbourne boxers as well as the lads from our armed services. Our boxers are looking sharp, and despite a few injuries ruling a few out, the team are raring to go and ready to put on a great show for you all.
“We are really excited how the club is going and we are now bringing through some real talent.”
Tickets can still be bought cheaper in advance from Adam Haniver on 07825684196 or firstname.lastname@example.org for £12 adults, £5 U16’s. They are £15 and £5 on the door otherwise. Hot food available. The bar is open. Doors open 7pm.
