British No.1 Laura Robson said she will have to step up her game to another level as she takes on Caroline Wozniacki on centre court today.
Robson and the Danish number-five seed are third on centre with golf superstar Rory McIlroy expected to be the crowd to cheer on his girlfriend Wozniacki.
Robson said, “You know it’s going to tougher playing Caroline. We both prefer playing on grass than on clay, so I’m looking forward to it. There are things I can do better and hopefully you will find out what that is - but I’m not going to share that now.”
Wednesday’s order of play at the Aegon International serves up another feast of grass court tennis with all second round matches scheduled to be played at Devonshire Park and the top four men’s seeds in action for the first time.
No.1 seed Milos Raonic takes on Ivan Dodig in the opening match on Centre Court.
Wild card Kyle Edmund from Yorkshire faces No.2 seeded Gilles Simon in the fourth match on the stadium court.
Elsewhere British No.2 Heather Watson faces Elena Vesnina fourth on Court No.1, Baltacha faces No.6 seed Maria Kirilenko, 2011 champion Marion Bartoli faces No.2 seed Li in the first match on Court No.1 and No.3 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany faces a tough assignment against Czech Radek Stepanek.
