Eastbourne Cricket Club chairman Ian Fletcher-Price described last week’s Lashings match as ‘an absolute triumph.’

More than 340 people enjoyed the hospitality laid on by the club as a star-studded Lashings line-up took on Eastbourne in a 20-20 fixture.

Food was supplied by the Ashoka Indian restaurant, with Sussex Downs students providing a great service with the catering.

Henry Blofeld delivered ball by ball commentary over the loud speakers as a partnership of 96 between Chris Schofield and Inzamam-ul-Haq took the game away from Eastbourne. Mark Tomsett offered resistance with a half century.

Chairman Fletch said, “It’s becoming the sporting, social event of the year and I feel the business community has a real appetite for it.

“The Lashings brought a great line-up and it was a tremendous day all round.”
