Eastbourne United will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they host undefeated East Preston in Sussex Division One.
United are on a poor run of form with the Oval team failing to win in their past five games.
East Preston’s recent fortunes are a contrast to Eastbourne’s with the West Sussex side the only undefeated team in the division.
After a good start to the season where United went undefeated in their opening six matches, results have curtailed with injuries depleting United manager Simon Rowland’s selection options.
Rowland said, “ We have a number of senior players out and that doesn’t help when your best players are missing.
“We have a good enough squad, but the players have not been good enough in recent games.
“We are at home so we will give it a go, we will train hard this week to give ourselves the best chance possible.”
East Preston’s impressive recent form is no flash in the pan with the Littlehampton based club favourites to gain promotion.
“They won the league comfortably last year. And they’re a better side then last year. The game is coming too early with all our injuries at the moment.”
