Hailsham Town could include two new signings in their squad to face rivals Ringmer on Saturday.
Manager Ian Stevens has moved quickly to improve a leaky defence by adding Pat Miszkiewicz and Alex Saunders to their ranks.
The defence was earmarked by Stevens as an area that needed improving immediately after taking the reins and, while he has enjoyed a superb start to his tenure, he is keen to shore up further as they look to solidify in mid-table.
He knows all about Miszkiewicz’s qualities having managed him while manager at Eastbourne United Youth.
The pair could go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game and Stevens says the squad are itching to get back into action after last week’s clash with Eastbourne Town was cancelled because of the weather.
“We really wanted that game to be on, we were gutted,” he said.
“It would have been really nice to play so lets hope that this one goes ahead.”
Hailsham are looking to end a run of two straight defeats in all competitions
That came after a run of five straight wins and Stevens said he believes his side can get back to what they do best.
Kick off is 3pm at Caburn Pavilion, Saturday December 27.
