Eastbourne Borough has announced that it had secured the most significant financial investment in the football club’s 50 year history, with the prospect of further funding to come.

The announcement has come Shortly before The Sports prepared to take to the field in the Parafix Sussex Senior Cup Final at Brighton and Hove Albion’s impressive AMEX Community Stadium,

The Club has recently entered into an agreement with an East Sussex based business, who have agreed to underwrite a significant proportion of the costs of the new state of the art 3G pitch, which is currently being constructed at Priory Lane.

The owners and directors of ZBMC Limited, who will be guests at the Cup Final today, have lived and worked in East Sussex for over forty years and are keen to help Eastbourne Borough Football Club reach its full potential. They were particularly drawn to the club because of the work that it does for the Eastbourne community and have been impressed with the academy set up.

CIC Chairman Paul Maynard said: “We are thrilled to have completed this initial agreement with ZBMC which is the biggest investment in the club’s history by some considerable margin. EBFC and ZBMC have a shared vision of ensuring the club progresses in a sustainable way which guarantees the continuation of its community ethos. We are continuing to work with ZBMC to see what more we can do together.

“There are so many exciting developments happening at the Club at the moment not least with the construction of the 3G pitch and the huge overhaul and expansion of our youth structure — and this is the icing on the cake. I hope what we are doing really captures the imagination - so that the whole town gets behind our efforts to get back to the pinnacle of non-league football and beyond.”
