Eastbourne Town club manager Ady Colwell sees no reason why Liam Baitup and Billy Medlock cannot enjoy a fruitful attacking partnership next season.
Baitup, who netted more 40 goals for Eastbourne United last season, and former Borough striker Medlock have shown decent form in pre-season.
Both strikers have already been on the scoresheet and Colwell believes the duo can take their promising start in the Ryman League South division next season.
He said, “They both look the part and they both look dangerous and that’s exactly what we brought them here to do.
“Liam has scored goals at this level in the past and Billy is keen and hungry to make his mark this season.
“They certainly have the qualities to work together but it’s not quite that easy to say they will be the strike partnership this season.
“You have to judge it game by game and see what tactics and shape we use on the day. However it is certainly an option for us.”
Colwell is pleased with Town pre-season preparations to date but insists first team manager Kevin Laundon still has some decisions to make.
“The squad is taking shape and we are pleased with that but Kevin will look to fine tune it ready for the start of the season. I am the club manager and my focus is on helping Kevin prepare for the season.
“Once that’s up and running I can spend some time with the reserves and also with the youth set-up.”
