Max Thompson, pupil at The Causeway School, played a major part in Chelsea’s Under-12s Academy success at the recent Premier League Christmas Truce International Tournament.
He helped his side beat Paris St-Germain 1-0 in the final, played in the Belgian city of Ypres last month.
The Blues came out on top against the French team in a high-quality event, which featured nine other academy teams from Belgium, Germany, Scotland, France and Austria. Max was in top form and supplied the assist for the only goal of the deciding game.
Central defender Max, is one of many exciting talents to come through the All Star Academy, based at The Causeway School.
Anthony Storey, Director of Coaching at the academy said, “We’ve known Max since he was 6-years-old. He’s a lovely and talented kid from a great family, we are all so proud of what he’s achieved so far and it’s really pleasing that he was spotted while playing for our set up a few years back.”
Matt, his father has the company Home Sweet Home and proudly sponsor the academy. He said, “Even though Max is only 12, he’s already had some tremendous experiences of high quality coaching, great facilities and oversees football tournaments.
“I’ve been able to get him to training and his academy games when necessary, although we couldn’t have done it without the support we’ve had from the All Star Academy and now Chelsea.”
