Eastbourne Borough manager Danny Bloor has created a new role for the former Albion and Orient star.

Bloor said: “Everyone loves Coxy and I’m delighted that we not only have him back for another season – but we’ve given him an upgrade!

“He will be a part of the management team, with a particular role in working with the younger players and developing them. Dean has so much experience to pass on, and this is great news for everyone.

“Dean has actually taken a significant pay cut to stay at the Lane, which alone speaks volumes for the guy. And it incidentally scotches the notion that the ex-pros only come to our level for the pay packet.

“The supporters – just like fans at every club where he’s every played – love him to bits. On the field, he still has so much to bring to our side, which remains his primary role.

“Coxy’s quality is as good as anyone’s in this league. I think back to that fantastic headed goal at Hungerford, and his sublime finish against Dorking on New Year’s Day. He can score ten goals for us this season – in addition to all the other qualities.”
