Eastbourne Borough manager Tommy Widdrington is eying a strong finish in the league following their Sussex Senior Cup exploits on Wednesday night.

With a place confirmed in the Sussex Senior Cup final, to be held at the AMEX Stadium in May, Widdrington is now focusing on the league starting with Hayes and Yeading who visit Priory Lane tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

Widdrington said, “It (Senior Cup final) will be a great way to finish off the season, including for the supporters. I know it’s a few years since Borough were in the Senior Cup final, but for the moment we will put it on the back burner and focus on a whole bunch of league games that we still have to play. We want to pick up a few more wins as quickly as we can and if we can do that, then we have a very good chance of turning this into a decent season.” Borough are 11th in the league standings while Hayes are 18th, just five points above the drop zone.

There will be little rest for Tommy Widdrington this weekend as on Sunday, he will be competing in the Eastbourne Half Marathon. Contact the club email: and find out how to sponsor Tommy’s run. Race starts at Princes Park at 10.15am
