Eastbourne Borough lost their third consecutive Vanarama South League match as they went down 2-0 at Bath City on Saturday.

Striker Dave Pratt opened the scoring for Bath in the first half and a penalty before the break from Pratt made it 2-0.

It was City’s first home victory of the season and Pratt’s fourth goal in three games.

For Borough their recent troubles continue.

There was no lack of endeavour from Tommy Widdrington’s men but they offered very little threat going forward and the home ‘keeper had a rather comfortable afternoon.

The Sports will hope for a rapid improvement in fortunes as next Saturday they welcome Ryman Premier outfit Enfield Town to Priory Lane for an FA Cup clash.

Borough starting XI: Carey, Hamilton, Beale, Simpemba, Aldred, Watts, McCallum (Bown), Sinclair (Worrall), Paquette (Lok), Johnson, Charles

Subs: Lovett, Foot.

Elsewhere John Lambert’s Eastbourne Town side enjoyed a 3-2 victory at Lancing in the Sussex County League one. Smith scored twice with Clarke adding the third for Town.

Also in division one Eastbourne United suffered a disappointing home 3-0 defeat at the hands of Loxwood while Andy Goodchild’s Hailsham Town went down by the odd goal in a 4-3 thriller. Leach, Salvidge and Divall were on target for Hailsham.
