Eastbourne Borough first team players will now be required to train on Monday and Friday mornings as Tommy Widdrington continues to implement changes throughout the club.
Widdrington and assistant Alan Kimble made the decision to move the training sessions to allow more contact time between the management, medical staff and the players.
Prior to this season, training sessions would always take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, which led to some sessions falling victim to midweek evening fixtures.
The new plans mean training will be able to take place on the Priory Lane pitch with the option of a variety of other locations and session types at their disposal.
The management duo hope the new schedule will allow training to introduce flexibility and variation as appropriate as they prepare for the start of the 2012/2013 campaign.
Widdrington said, “This approach has been in my plans for some time and all conversations with players have been based on this training schedule.
“It’s fair to say there has been very little opposition or issues raised with me, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from all concerned.”
The team return to action when they travel to Horsham for their first pre-season friendly on July, 24.
